Is there any plan to update the (now very old) Configuration Utility?

Latest version I can find (for Mac) is v3.5. [iPhone Configuration Utility 3.5 for Mac OS X] And that version was last posted on March 7, 2012. So, this has been neglected for more than two years! When I load my iPad Air the utility does not exactly recognize the device. So, it shows up as a question mark.

However, I can still configure a few things on it. But it does not exactly support iOS 7..

When, if ever, will there be an update to this utility?
